Fruit and vegetable shipper,
Connection, trust and expertise.
What exactly is a fruit and vegetable shipper ?
The business involves much more than just shipping fruit and vegetables.
We buy from growers, prepare, package and ship fresh produce to our customers.
Our priority is to build a balanced relationship based on trust, which benefits everyone.
The first stage, known as “sourcing”, is carried out hand in hand with producers. We are in daily contact to discuss their products, constraints, volumes and qualities.
When it comes to buyers, we set ourselves the same high standards: to be a reliable and responsive partner. We are committed to meeting the needs of our customers: wholesalers, central buying services and manufacturers.
To achieve this, we work hard to deliver products that meet their expectations in terms of volume and quality, with full traceability.

Buying / Sourcing / Collecting
We carefully select our products from French and international fruit and vegetable growers.

Sorting / Quality control / Packaging
The products are checked, sometimes graded, then packaged according to the standards required by our customers (crates, trays, nets, etc.).

Storage / Flow management
Products are stored temporarily in refrigerated areas, pending their departure.

Logistics / Shipping
We plan deliveries and optimise routes and lead times.

Customer relations / Traceability
We ensure regular follow-up and exchanges, and guarantee product traceability from field to fork.

Our history :
From wholesaler to fruit and vegetable shipper

The start of the Charlet Bazon story
In the 1960’s :
The company’s story began in Lille, northern France, with Joël Bazon, who set up as a fruit and vegetable seller at the “Les Halles de Lille” market, on rue Solférino.
In 1972 :
Joël Bazon moved his business to the MIN de Lomme national wholesale market for food and agricultural produce in Lille’s western suburbs. He then joined forces with Raymond Charlet. Together, they founded the Charlet Bazon company.
Change of direction
From 1972 to 2000 :
Charlet Bazon was a fruit and vegetable wholesaler. As the range expanded, the team grew. Joël’s son, David Bazon, joined the venture and bought out Raymond Charlet’s shares.
In the early 2000’s :
The company changed direction. It created its Nord Primeurs entity and began to concentrate more on the shipping business. Gradually, it gave up its activities on the wholesale market floor to specialise 100% in shipping.
Towards new ambitions
2021 :
Julien Lukaszczyk bought Charlet Bazon – Nord Primeurs and took over as managing director with new ambitions.
2024 :
Launch of the “Saveurs de nos producteurs” (In English “Our growers’ flavours”) brand to promote the work of producers while guaranteeing superior quality.

Our whole purpose is to serve producers for the benefit of consumers !
